AABS Australasian Chapter 21st Conference
The Baltic States on the World Stage
Edith Cowan University
12-13 October 2024
The Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) Australasian chapter is proud to announce that our 21st biennial conference will be held on 12-13 October 2024 at Edith Cowan University Joondalup campus in Perth. This is the first time that the conference will be held in Western Australia.
We invite submissions on Baltic Studies in Australasia in the context of the continued relevance of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania in global events and on the changing world stage, particularly in relation to global security, including the ongoing war on Ukraine. At the same time, it is important to maintain our scholarly activity in all our regular disciplines.
Contributions are encouraged from all disciplines, including: anthropology, architecture, business, communication and media, cultural studies, demography, economics, education, environment, ethnic relations, film studies, fine arts, gender studies, geography, history, international relations, law, linguistics, literature, memory, political science, psychology, public health, religion, sociology, and advancing Baltic Studies. Interdisciplinary and comparative work is particularly welcome.
The conference will have both face-to-face and online presentations and attendance.
Please send proposals (250 words) by 1 August 2024 to Dr. Delaney Skerrett, Chapter President and Conference Convenor at [email protected]
